If only more people would take this to heart . . .
I have read this poem before, and I wanted to post it for all of the "Moms" out there!

If I Had My Child To Raise Over Again

“If I had my child to raise all over again,
I’d finger paint more and point the finger less.
I’d do less correcting, and more connecting.
I’d take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less, and know to care more.
I’d take more hikes and fly more kites.
I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I’d do more hugging, and less tugging.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I’d build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I’d teach less about the love of power
And more about the power of love”

Sara,
Thanks for the post on my blog - actually, I looked at your blog a couple weeks ago and didn't post because I didn't know if you would remember me! I found you through the Layers too. It was a good little trip back down memory lane remembering all you MI people! I'm remembering the poop van in particular - good times!

Great post today too - wow, do I ever need to remember that as a mom. I think I'm going to print it off and put it by my kitchen sink.
