The "latest..."

The past couple days have been very draining physically and emotionally! Gage is doing so well- his feeding tube is out--YEA!! NO MORE TUBES OR NEEDLES stuck in my baby! That is such a relieving feeling. They also graduated him from the NICU to "convelescent care." We are so grateful that he is well enough to be moved out of the NICU, but we really want him home! He is doing so well feeding, and keeping his temperature high enough--they are basically just trying to move him slowly, because he was SO early, and I don't really think that any of the doctors can "fathom" his being strong enough to go home this early, even though WE know it is possible. We serve a much higher power than these doctors, for whom we are SO grateful! Please pray for continued strength and patience, as we await that glorious day the doctor tells us he can come home! Josh and I both covet your prayers right now.

Laura Grace got to meet little Gage today! She is showing him a basketball here, trying to distract him enough to swipe his pacifier. She was successful, until Mommy made her give it back.

Oh Sara, we are praying for strength for you as it must be terribly hard obeying doctor's orders when you desire them to be otherwise. So thankful Gage is doing so well! Maybe by this weekend they'll give the OK! Keep your chin up!

Oh Sara and Josh! I didn't know ANYTHING at all about your delivering early--about Gage's arrival! First, congratulations! What an extraordinary boy! And second, I am praying. What's remarkable is that a lady I teach with now just had her baby--a little over 5 weeks early. She was only 2 lbs, 15 oz. She is doing quite well--growing slowly. I've been praying (as well as my summer school classes) for her and her family; now we will be praying for you all as well. I can't wait to hear the news that he has gone home with the 2 of you. :-) What a great day that will be! Much love, Becky (Miss T)

Great to hear the progress, though it may feel slow. The Lord knows and it would be a blessing to be at the hospital were there any setbacks. Of course, like you said, Our Great God is watching carefully over this one! You will have sooo much to share and help others one day in what you are experiencing right now!
